Regulatory position
The ESPR Working Plan 2025–2030 lists mattresses as a priority final product with an indicative 2029 timeline for measure adoption. It highlights opportunities to reduce waste, extend product lifetime and improve material efficiency.
Mattresses are distinct from the furniture measure, which has its own indicative 2028 timeline. Final scope, data, passport level, verification and application dates will be determined through the mattress-specific process.

Common questions
Not through a mattress-specific obligation today. A delegated measure must define the covered products, mandatory data, passport level, verification and application dates.
The ESPR Working Plan gives 2029 as the indicative timeline for adopting a mattress measure. It is not a universal compliance deadline for every mattress.
The Working Plan lists mattresses separately from furniture, with different indicative adoption years. Manufacturers should therefore keep their regulatory configurations distinct even if both use the same DPP platform.
The final dataset is not fixed. Readiness domains include product identity, layer and material composition, supplier evidence, substances, durability, care, disassembly, environmental information and recovery guidance.
Not necessarily. ESPR permits model, batch or item-level passports, and the mattress measure will determine the required level. A flexible architecture should relate all three.
